2011 Events and happenings

A great success despite the weather
The Music in Bloom weekend
took place from 15th to 17th July.
Poor weather with heavy rain on both
the Saturday and Sunday kept visitor
numbers down. Nevertheless the
weekend was most enjoyable and
successful as both residents
and visitors were given the
opportunity to appreciate ten of the
magnificent gardens in our village,
two of which also included pottery
and art exhibitions, and enjoy
the musical events on Friday and
Saturday evenings.

Skip McMullan, Chairman of FROST at the Saturday evening concert, thanking Maureen Galea
and the Clandon Singers, who were directed by Sebastian Forbes, and included alto Tessa Forbes.
Some of the beautiful flower arrangements in the Church are in the background-particular thanks to
Elinor Hogarth and her team for the wonderful displays.

her art studio for the day, and
Terri Smart her pottery.

In the lovely gardens at Stuart Cottage, which is also on the National
Garden Scheme rota. Musical entertainment was provided at Stuart
Cottage and three other gardens.
Given the success of the event,
we are currently considering repeating it
next year, possibly in September

We will be repeating the very successful ‘Trio of talks’; these will take place on 27th January, 17th February and 23rd March.

We are also planning to hold another “Music in Bloom” festival in early September. More detail closer to the time.
